Definitions of Operations
The four basic math operations have these definitions.
- Addition is combining or putting together two or more quantities of the same or different values.
- Subtraction is separating, removing or taking one quantity away from an original quantity.
- Multiplication is combining the same quantitiy many times.
- Division is separating a quantity into many quantities that all have the same value.
